Course Overview
The NCC Education Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies is an Ofqual-regulated pre-university qualification developed to prepare students for undergraduate study.
The programme builds essential skills in English, mathematics, research and study techniques, with elective pathways for areas such as business, computing, law, sciences and art.
Qualification Structure / Units
- Core units for IELTS 4.5 to below 5.5 – Developing English Language Skills, English for Academic Purposes, Maths for University Study, and Research and Study Skills for University Study.
- Core units for IELTS 5.5 and above – English for Academic Purposes, Maths for University Study, and Research and Study Skills for University Study.
- Elective units – options include Law for University Study, Introductory Accounting, Introductory Economics, Introduction to Programming with Python, International Business, sciences, Digital Art, Fine Art, Art & Design, Introduction to Computer Science and Digital World.
Entry Requirements
- Students should have completed GCSE/IGCSE ‘O’ Levels or equivalent and passed five subjects with minimum grades of C/4 or equivalent, including Mathematics and English.
- Students whose first language is not English should have IELTS 4.5 or above, or complete the NCC Education Standard English Placement Test through an Accredited Partner Centre.

Assessment
Assessments are offered in a minimum of four assessment cycles during the year and units are assessed by written examination or assignment.
Academic Progression
Students can apply to Year 1 of university degree programmes at many recognised universities and may also progress to NCC Education Level 4 Computing, Computing with Business Management or Business programmes.
Accreditation Status
The L3IFDHES is an Ofqual-regulated qualification.
