Course Overview

The NCC Education Level 2 Award in Computing is an Ofqual-regulated qualification for learners who want to strengthen practical computing, digital literacy and programming skills.

The programme develops more advanced Python knowledge and introduces Java, while helping learners build confidence with computing concepts, problem solving and digital tools.

Qualification Structure / Units

  • Fundamentals of Computing and Digital Literacy – covers programming, computational thinking, data manipulation, internet safety, collaboration software, accessibility and the components of modern computer systems.

Entry Requirements

  • Suitable for candidates aged 14–16 at Key Stage 4, as well as older learners including adults.
  • Non-native English speakers should be able to prepare for and complete assessment in English.

Assessment

Learners may complete Digi programme courses and, on completion of the full programme, may be entered for formal assessment leading to NCC Education qualification certification.

Academic Progression

The qualification helps prepare learners for further computing and programming study, including progression towards higher NCC Education computing pathways.

Accreditation Status

The Level 2 Award in Computing is positioned at Level 2 and regulated through NCC Education as a UK awarding body.
