Course Overview

The NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing with Business Management is the first year of the NCC Education degree journey and is equivalent to the first year of an IT degree in the UK university system.

The programme combines computing and business management so learners can contribute to computer systems, networks, databases and websites in a business context.

Qualification Structure / Units

  • Core units – Computer Networks, Computer Systems, Databases, and Front End Web Development.
  • Mandatory specialist units – eBusiness, Essentials of Management, and Understanding Business Organisations.
  • Elective units – students choose one from Algorithms and Mathematical Concepts for Computing, Designing and Developing Object-Oriented Computer Programmes, and Software Engineering.

Entry Requirements

  • NCC Education Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies, Level 3 Diploma in Computing or Level 3 Diploma in Business.
  • A comparable local/international qualification, one A Level/equivalent or an appropriate school leaver certificate agreed with NCC Education.
  • For non-native English speakers: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent, GCSE/iGCSE O Level English C/4 or equivalent, or the NCC Education Higher English Placement Test.

Assessment

All units are assessed by assignments and/or examinations through assessment cycles during the year.

Academic Progression

Students can progress to Level 5 Computing with Business Management, Level 5 Computing with Cyber Security, or apply to Year 2 of a university degree programme.

Accreditation Status

NCC Education is regulated by Ofqual to award the Level 4 Diploma in Computing with Business Management in England; the page lists qualification reference 600/0624/9.
